Getaway Shootout

Getaway Shootout combines racing and combat into a frantic two-player game where the goal is simple: reach the extraction point before your opponent, using whatever weapons appear along the way.

Movement is unusual — both players can only move by hopping left or right, not running smoothly. This deliberate awkwardness creates chaotic, unpredictable races where a player in last place can win through lucky weapon pickups and good timing. The movement system also means fights are close-range affairs where positioning and jump timing matter as much as weapon selection.

Random weapon drops create different strategic situations each round: a jetpack lets you bypass obstacles entirely, explosives clear crowded paths, and precision rifles reward careful aiming in a game that doesn't usually reward patience. Each extraction point — helicopter, cargo plane, speedboat — presents a different physical challenge to reach first.

Getaway Shootout is from the same developer as Rooftop Snipers and shares its design philosophy: two controls per player, intentional chaos, and the kind of unpredictable outcomes that make two-player browser games memorable.
