Age of War was developed by Louissi and published by Miniclip, becoming one of the defining browser strategy games of the late 2000s. Watching the opponent's base for visual signs of their evolution — architectural changes and unit type changes are visible — helps calibrate your own timing.

Special abilities provide decisive moments when used optimally. The Stone Age meteor strike is a basic area attack. The Future age's black hole is a devastating screen-clearing weapon. Each special has a significant cooldown, making timing critical — saving it for when enemy units overwhelm your defenses rather than using casually provides maximum strategic value.
