Never engage in a gunfight from open ground. Your first action in every fight should be placing a wall between you and the enemy. Even a single wall buys you the split second to build a platform above your opponent — high ground is the biggest advantage in 1v1.LOL.
Players above their opponent have a massive advantage: wider shooting angles, more escape options, and the psychological pressure of looking down. Always build ramps to gain height advantage immediately. If the opponent has high ground, break their floor with a shotgun shot rather than building higher — disrupting their platform is faster.
The shotgun destroys builds in one shot at close range — use it to break opponent structures during aggressive pushes. The assault rifle handles medium and long range engagements before you close distance. Switching between the two based on range is the core mechanical skill of 1v1.LOL.
When fighting inside close quarters, box fighting controls the space. Place a floor beneath you, walls on all four sides, and a roof — then edit and shoot through openings. This isolates one engagement angle at a time and prevents opponents from using space to dodge.
Fast edits — opening window shapes, doors, and triangles in your builds — give you surprise angles that slower players cannot react to. Practice edit patterns in Build Battle mode before using them in competitive play. The difference between good and great 1v1.LOL players is edit speed.
